• A tentative topic for your INDS 400 project proposal
  • At least two (2) research questions that you hope to answer in your capstone project
  • At least three (3) disciplines from which you intend to  glean knowledge, insights, methods, and epistemologies to understand  your issue or problem
  • A justification or rationale for the project, i.e. Why does this topic matter? Why should we care?
  • A tentative research plan (what kind of sources are you going to gather, how are you going to gather them)

The world is your oyster, but you might think about a  contemporary problem or issue. So, if you wanted to examine the  "problem" of modern terrorism, you might look at History to evaluate the  causes and motivations behind terrorism; Sociology and/or Psychology to  assess the mindsets and motivations and habits of mind of terrorists;  Economics to understand the role of poverty and class in terrorism; and  so on. Remember: you aren’t just “putting together” different  disciplinary approaches and perspectives but trying to integrate them  and provide original perspectives and analysis.
